Good Morning!

I have fallen in love with this stamp from http://plumpurdy.com/proddetail.php?prod=STMP128
it is fun and great for those of us that like to color. i had so much fun with this

card! the coloring is done with prismacolor pencils and
gamsol. i used small black brads for his coat buttons and some glitter(ultra fine) for the snow on his hat.

the cardstock is from stampin up, and the designer paper is from Michaels. (so is my ribbon). his coat looks a

little more rosy than it is ! it matches the cardstock very nicely.

if you are in the market for some fun snowmen and winter scene stamps, this is a great site. Easy shopping, quick and i was very pleased.

I love Halloween in my neighborhood, literally over 1200 -1500 kids come thru and everyone in the area goes all out with decorations and haunted fun! i found these delightful little take out boxes on the SCS gallery by the wonderfully talented Carolina:

mine are a little less decorated, but i loved doing them and they were a nice treat for my daughters.

i used the VOILA set by Stampin up, stamped and then stamped again to create the patterned chef coat and

pants. A fun technique we call Paper Piecing. On some i used brads to make the coat buttons, and on the oval with words i used little beads from Michaels, i shaded the edges with sponging.

it was a fun treat. the little boxes were $1.29 from michaels and came in all colors and i chose the
frosted ones.

I apologize for the time between my blogs, i have been busy.
sometimes life gets in the way of the creative
side and that comes first. i hope to do some stamping over

the weekend!

i made a quickie card with another of my

whimsiedoodles, love these little

gingerbread people!
cookie dough (mmmm) out of glitter glue,
love that little spool of gingerbread men ribbon i
found at michaels...
i colored with prisma pencils and gamsol.
but other that that, i am sorry, i have been
busy with life.
hope to blog over the weekend.

MEMORIES AND DIGITAL STAMPS

hello,

welcome to my blog! i grew up in a warm, loving

family filled with laughter and happiness.

i am lucky and i appreciated it. my parents were always trying to

fill our days with fun times on a tight budget. we had a wood stove in our

home, and i thought EVERYONE had one. nope.
on our stove was a big black cast iron tea pot that put steam into the

room so the air wasn't dry.

i recently came across these delightful stamps from a place
called whimsiedoodles.
there among the digital stamps was this adorable image
with my parents cast iron pot... and all the wonderful
happy memories came flooding back.
these stamps are precious and fun, and i wanted to share the card i created.
i used the stamps from Whimsiedoodles, colored with my prisma pencils and
gamsol, the little beads on the gingerbread are pearl stickers from the Recollection
collection at Michaels Stores. (cute huh?)
i outlined the white with my uniball pen. the papers are from the Nursery Collection
from KC &CO. that ribbon is from my local scrapbooking store http://www.newenglandscrapbook.com/, great ribbons!
the border is from a fiskars punch. I mimicked the cross stitches in the top two corners with thread and a piercing pattern and tool.

HAPPY 1ST DAY OF AUTUMN!

i live in NewEngland, and every year i am blessed to witness
the magic of leaves turning and dancing to the ground. Lawns
are covered with blankets of reds and oranges, yellows and browns.
I witness the final salute before the world closes shop temporarily and
sleeps under winter snows.
It is incredible. It is beautiful. Hills of green become artists paletes mixed with
sunsets that would make Renoir jealous of the strokes of color.
I love this time of year.

todays challenge on Splitcoast stampers was to use Halloween colors and limited embellishments. to play along the challenge can be found here:LSC 238...

i used the stamp set haunting halloween from stampin up, he is colored with prisma markers and colored pencils. i used a scor-pal to create the lined background and sponged around the image.
the solid papers are from Stampin up, the DP from Provo craft.
a quick fun card!

every saturday on SCS they offer up a great challenge

that encourages you to get creative and inspired from

different chosen sources ~ this week was kids clothes

from CWDKIDS . Well i have this great new Whipper

Snapper stamp that i just knew fit this inspiration:

RED IS THE COLOR OF THE DAY...

RED ~ it's my favorite color.

i own red clothes, red heels when i was younger *wink*,

red vases, red.red.red.

love it, embrace it, and today got to use it

in a SCS challenge ~wt235revved up red~

my angel is a gorgeous stamp from stampendous, great for embossing and coloring, so i did!

i stamped her with versamark, embossed with gold fine embossing powder, and used prisma markers in real red and green to color. i added gold pearls to her wings and red to the gown.

her skin is blush from stampin up .

i painted her wings with radiant pearls -miners gold-

and the papers are all from K&co glitter pkg(last year ~sorry i hoard paper~)

the fiskars punch was for the edging and the gold glimmery paper on the bottom is run thru the swirls folder in the cuttlebug.

...I THEE WED

My wonderful sister-in-law and her her equally wonderful husband

have been married TWENTY FIVE years. They have filled my

world with fun and laughter, support and kindness. I am so

happy for them, and here's to the next 25 being just as great.

i made them a "Silver Anniversary" card with one of my

favorite sets from stampin up ~ ALWAYS.

i stamped the hearts with versa mark, embossed with silver embossing powder

and then cut and layered them with dimensionals.

the card has embossing from the swirls cuttlebug folder, and marth stewart punch

made the "doily" bottom. silver edged ribbon over a strip of basic grey cardstock and, the silver balls are rhinestone stickers.

WINGS OF SUMMER

Good day my friends!

warm weather on tap as the lazy days of summer stroll to an end. todays sketch on SCS is awesome, lots of layers, lots of fun! the deets can be found here: SC243. If you find the time, try to play along ~ it's fun!!

I finally bought some nestabilities ( labels three)

and embraced my image with a layer of them, and the main image is a LOCKHART stamp colored with prisma markers and covered with a coating of Aleen's Glaze for paper.

the papers are cuttlebug embossed with the swiss dots folder and the bottom layer is a fiskars punch. all the papers are from my scrap pile, i believe most are Stampin up, and the ribbon is from michaels.

I love the gallery of Joanne, it is so filled with colors and patterns terrific!

this is the card that i cased :Shoe Shopping.

my card is made using the Tart and Tangy set

from Stampin up. (you can click on the card

to get closer) the apples are punched with a circle punch, and the green one is glazed then i added diamond dust. the green on is also raised on dimensionals. the paper is from DCWV

(Nana's Nursery).

WILD ABOUT YOU

good morning! it has been a crazy week here. the humidity and
the heat have been very taxing. last night we had strong thunderstorms roll through. hoping the terribleheat will disappear.

i haven't any air conditioning and i stamp in my living room, so with the heat, the ceiling fans were all
on high. yesterday i finally got to stamp,without all my things blowing around.

i combined two challenges on SCS, the sketch challenge :SC242, and the limited supply challenge ( make a manly card) here:LSC234.

I used patterned paper from stampin up, and the image is also from stampin up.i stamped the lion with a spectrum stamp pad, stamped a second face, cut it out, used dimensional glaze and popped it to give dimension.
i used my cuttlebug and swiss dot folder on the blue strip, and paper pierced around the red.

HONEY DO...

Good Morning!

I played the SCS challenge LSC233

this morning and it was a fun

one!

with summer winding down, we had to

make a card that reflected our

summer activity.

Well, this summer was a "honey do" summer.

honey do this, honey do that!

lots of small repairs that fell by the wayside

and painting etc... so it was a very productive

summer!

‘Your Next Stamp 1st Design Team Call’

good morning!

Today my blog is an application for a Design Team entry. Do i think i am ready? YES!

Do i think i am qualified? Maybe! (a girl has to start somewhere!)

So i started a blog. that was HUGE for me.

i am passionate about my cards, i have created scrapbooks

for my family, i am passionate, hard working and committed.

(not the insane asylum committed) :)

i am posting two of my cards that i feel best showcase my ability.

the first is a cute little image from Rubber Stampede

(you can click on the photo to enlarge for details). i used a cuttlebug folder and inked it, then embossed, the little bees have sparkly wings

and the other paper is Basic grey. i pierced the sides and the spout,

and colored with aqua blenders

and reinkers of Stampin up grey, cranberry, safron and black.

the second card is from Whipper Snapper and that little frog is too cute!

i colored with prisma pencils and gamsol, i popped the flower and the

main image in dimensionals and the paper is from Deja VU.

Well, this is me ~ all exposed, and ready to be decided upon.

i hope that my passion shows thru, my love and delight in card making shows,

and while i am scared sometimes to attempt "new " i do forge ahead

and try.

I Hate heat...

i really have to say that i don't "glisten"
like commercials say when it's hot. i hate heat. i hate
sweating and all that is involved with sweating.
my point of this is NO card making today.
i have my ceiling fans on turbo, strong enough to
pin my cat against the dining room wall, thus all my
card paraphernalia would be blowing around
similiar to the tornado scene from The Wizard of Oz.

Jungle in the Mail

good morning!

Gorgeous day on tap here in New England. Warm, sunny, perfect.

going to spend it at a graduation party

in Long Island with

family and friends that i love.

it seems to be a month full of babies and birthdays,and this is a card i made for my brother-in-law

that got lost in the mail! (not my brother-in-law, the card..)

so i thought i would post it ,and eventually i will remake it

and hand deliver it.

I used this wonderful jungle paper that came on a tablet

of assorted papers that was given to me YEARS ago. cool huh?

the little jungle man is colored with gamasol and prisma pencils.

SO because i am on vacation, and not cleaning like i really

in my effort to keep up with the baby "boom" among friends and family,

i have been busy making baby cards. thank God for labor, it

gives me time to get the cards done.

i recently went to walmart to purchase fabric softner,and

wandered over to the crafts aisle. there i found this cute

little monkey die for the CuttleKids, but worked

fine in my cuttlebug.

so one of the girls who is a new "mommy" has

a monkey theme for the nursery. i kept the card

simple ( the paper has a little sparkle)

and the monkey was the center.

simple, but to the point!

i am attempting my hand in the blog world.it seems to be the year of the "baby boy"

so my first post is of a card i made for one

of my daughters friends.
